Welcome to Tipitina Music!
We are a privately run piano studio located in Alstonville NSW, providing lessons for children and adults, from total beginners to tertiary level.
Students at the studio learn to play the piano, which incorporates theory and musicianship, rhythm, aural perception and sight singing skills. We offer students the skills necessary to complete AMEB exams, prepare for HSC examinations and compete in local Eisteddfods, should they wish to do so.
Most importantly, we inspire a love of music – a gift we hope our students have for life!
Why Should I Learn Piano?
- Learning to play the piano is a skill that taps into and stimulates everything that makes us human – logic, creativity, emotional expression, physical dexterity, language acquisition, a sense of history, mathematics and much much more.
- For children (even as young as 3 or 4), the piano is an instrument that they can physically play and produce music straight away (perhaps important for the sanity of other family members?).
- Unlike other instruments, learning the piano requires students to read both the treble and bass clef (think high and low notes). Should a student wish to learn the saxophone or trumpet later on, they will already be able to read the music for that instrument.
- Other well-documented benefits include increased IQ, greater dexterity and hand-to-eye coordination, stimulation of both the right and left hemispheres of the brain, development of self-esteem and confidence and much much more.
