Dylan Curnow grew up in Sydney, and has formal training in classical music, having completed an honours degree in classical piano performance at the University of NSW in 2000. He has, however, spent most of his professional life performing blues, pop and jazz. In addition to his busy teaching schedule, he was director of Isabella a cappella choir based at Southern Cross University for 10 years, touring six times to Japan with them. From 2010 to 2017 Dylan played keyboards in Lisa Hunt’s band ‘Forever Soul’ in addition to work as a freelance producer and arranger. Dylan loves playing and teaching the piano and has a particular interest in Bach, Debussy, New Orleans style R&B.
Polly began learning piano at the age of 4 with the Suzuki method. She went on to obtain a Bachelor of Music from the University of NSW in 1999, majoring in classical piano performance and musicology. This led to many public performances, masterclasses (including one with renowned Australian pianist Roger Woodward) and workshops to further her musical training and love of piano. She holds a Performer's Certificate from Trinity College London, and 8th Grade AMEB in Classical Singing. She especially loves the piano works of Debussy and Scriabin and has a keen interest in teaching beginners – particularly young children.
Alex is an accomplished musician that is well renowned in the area for his guitar work, he has tour nationally and internationally with a variety of acts such as Pete Murray and The ASO, Carl Cleves and Parissa Bouas, Nini & Ben and Rebecca Ireland. He has performed at many festivals including Mullum Fest, Nannup Music Festival, Adelaide Fringe Festival and the Byron Bay Guitar festival. Having completed a BA in Contemporary Music at SCU 2009, Alex has taught guitar and bass over the past 15 years at the Northern Rivers Conservatorium, Trinity Catholic College, Hothouse Music and Lismore Music. Alex has experience in a wide range of styles including Blues, Rock, Jazz, Folk, Country and Pop. As a recording artist, Alex has co-produced, engineered and played on a number of albums… most recently to date, Cassie Rose’s “Destiny”, and his own self-titled EP, “Al McLeod”.
David has been involved in virtually every aspect of the music industry and music education and has gained the reputation as one of the most versatile and in-demand drummers and drum teachers in Australia. Dave divides his time between national touring, recording and teaching drum set at Southern Cross University, The Jazz Music Institute in Brisbane and The University of Southern Queensland. As a tertiary educator David has become recognised as one of Australia’s top drum set teachers and his students are some of the most in demand drummers in the Australian music industry. Dave has been featured in Drumscene magazine, recognised for both his performance and educational pursuits.
Amie has lived and breathed music since she was born. She has performed as a singer/musician from a young age and has a variety of experience including performing in various original bands and cover bands as a lead singer and as a backing vocalist, recording sessions, choral singing, collaborating with electronic producers, songwriting and arranging.
Amie completed a Bachelor of Contemporary Music majoring Voice from Southern Cross University in 2009 and has over 10 years experience as a singing teacher. Amie also plays guitar and piano and has a strong understanding of music theory. She is a passionate, versatile and spontaneous singer who enjoys singing a range of styles including R&B, Hip Hop, Pop, Soul, Funk, Blues, Jazz, Rock, Grunge, Country and Folk. She loves teaching singing and aims to create a joyful experience that nurtures her students’ talents and self confidence.
